Jaime F. González-Suárez

Biography

His practice focuses on public–private partnerships (P3s), private equity, and corporate transactions in Puerto Rico. He regularly advises sponsors, investors, and operators in P3 matters, including procurement, financing, and operational issues. Mr. González-Suárez also concentrates on the formation, structuring, and ongoing compliance of Puerto Rico Private Equity Funds, counseling fund managers and investors on regulatory and operational matters. He additionally has experience in public finance matters, including advising on a range of municipal finance transactions.

He has substantial experience representing buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions across multiple industries, as well as assisting companies starting or expanding operations in Puerto Rico. His practice further includes advising clients on commercial loan and REO portfolio matters, structured finance transactions, and general corporate issues.

His representative matters include advising on Puerto Rico’s largest public private partnership valued in excess of $2.85 billion, a corporate consolidation exceeding $6.3 billion, and financings in excess of $4.1 billion.

Mr. González-Suárez takes a client‑centered, solutions‑oriented approach, working closely with clients to understand their commercial priorities and develop practical strategies that advance their business objectives.

He worked at McConnell Valdés as a Summer Associate in 2016 and 2015 and as a Student Law Clark in the firm’s Corporate and Real Estate & Finance Practice Groups during his second year of law school.
