Overview

Evan is an associate in the Cincinnati office of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP.  He focuses his practice on ERISA litigation, representing plan sponsors, fiduciaries and service providers in disputes arising under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).  He also maintains an active practice in complex commercial litigation, class action defense, bankruptcy and distressed asset matters.

Evan regularly advises clients on fiduciary obligations, contested benefit plan claims and related regulatory issues under ERISA.  He has experience across all phases of litigation, from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal, and maintains direct relationships with institutional and banking clients.

Evan is a frequent speaker before industry and bar association groups on topics in ERISA litigation.  He has served on the Board of Directors for the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries and currently serves on the Planning Committee for the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Employee Benefits Conference.  He also served as an adjunct professor and moot court coach at Capital University Law School.

Evan earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School, where he served on The Capital University Law Review and published a note on ERISA preemption.  He received his B.A. from Miami University in 2019.  Evan also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
