Overview

Kristin is a partner in the Vorys Cincinnati office whose practice spans a broad range of commercial real estate transactions. She has particular experience in joint venture transactions for real estate assets, advising sponsors and investors on structuring and negotiating complex ownership arrangements.

Kristin represents clients across all stages of the real estate lifecycle ‒ acquisition, ownership structuring, financing, development, leasing and disposition ‒ across a wide range of asset types, including multifamily apartment communities, office buildings, medical office facilities, life science properties, industrial facilities and other commercial properties. Her practice encompasses real estate acquisitions and dispositions and commercial leasing ‒ representing owners, developers, landlords, tenants, purchasers and sellers ‒ as well as financing matters and workouts on behalf of owners, developers and borrowers. She routinely negotiates and documents property management arrangements across a wide variety of commercial property types.

In addition, Kristin has specific experience with Fannie Mae multifamily financing transactions and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) transactions.

Career highlights include:

  • Representing a co-developer in negotiating an intricate joint venture agreement for the development of a 100-acre site on the East Coast
  • Frequently representing lenders and tenants in significant commercial lease transactions
  • Acting as lead counsel for an entrepreneurial real estate development group in connection with the acquisition of a significant retail and office building in a coastal city in the Southeast, including the purchase, financing, syndication of the deal as a private placement, and a joint venture arrangement with an institutional partner
  • Representing the owners of more than a dozen office, research and development and biotech properties located in the greater metropolitan area of a major East Coast city in connection with a tax-deferred roll-up and refinancing transaction, including the establishment of a credit facility of in excess of $500 million to finance existing properties and future acquisitions
  • Representing buyers and sellers of apartment properties in Texas in transactions involving more than 5,000 units
  • Representing the buyer in the acquisition of the business assets of a regional multifamily property management firm
  • Frequently representing owners of commercial properties in structuring and negotiating joint venture agreements and sponsoring equity investments by third parties

Kristin is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association.

Kristin received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif and was editor in chief of the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Kristin received her B.S. in journalism from Ohio University as a graduate of the Honors Tutorial College.

Kristin served as a judicial clerk to The Honorable Roger L. Gregory of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
