Overview
Alycia is a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the firm’s litigation practice group. Alycia has provided strategic advice and counsel for more than two decades to clients across the country. She represents companies and individuals in a wide variety of complex litigation matters. Alycia has extensive experience in antitrust, commercial, class action, insurance and securities litigation. In addition, she has extensive knowledge of retail payment strategies and has helped retailers navigate their payment relationships.
Alycia has extensive trial experience, having first or second chaired more than 100 cases at the trial court level, including trials before the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and in various state courts. She has also represented clients on appeals and has conducted oral arguments before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and state appellate courts.
Career highlights include:
- Representing seven retailers in a lawsuit filed in the Northern District of Illinois alleging violations of the U.S. antitrust laws by Visa and Mastercard
- Serving as lead trial counsel defending a major chemical company against a $600 million contribution claim arising out of the Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio; following a three-week federal court trial, jury allocated zero liability to Vorys’s client
- Represented 18 retailers in a lawsuit filed in the Southern District of New York alleging violations of the U.S. antitrust laws by Visa and Mastercard
- Successfully defended a national financial institution in a class action lawsuit brought by owner-operator truck drivers alleging unlawful retention of $5 million in maintenance escrow funds
- Defended a large retailer in an antitrust class action related to keyword bidding
- Secured a seven-figure jury verdict in a insurance-focused commercial dispute
Alycia is an active member of the Federal Bar Association’s Columbus Chapter, including previously serving as the organization's president. She is also active in the Columbus Bar Association (CBA) and currently serves as the chair of the CBA’s Committee on the Judiciary.
Alycia is involved in the Columbus community and has served on a number of boards including the King Arts Complex, the YWCA Columbus, and Big Brothers Big Sisters, among others. She recently received the prestigious Northwestern Pritzker School of Law Social Justice Impact Award in recognition of her work in the community.
