Preparing for Increased Ohio Medicaid Fraud Enforcement (Webinar) 

Liam Gruzs, Nikkia Knudsen and Jake Thorn, attorneys in the Vorys Columbus office, presented a webinar titled "Preparing for Increased Ohio Medicaid Fraud Enforcement" on May 20 from noon EST to 1:00. 

The webinar focused on recent announcements at both the federal and state levels, which suggest a significant increase in enforcement activity by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.  Attendees learned about best practices for responding to criminal subpoenas, search warrants, government investigative requests while protecting sensitive information and minimizing organizational disruption, and more.  The attorneys also identified workplace and health care compliance issues likely to trigger scrutiny, including billing practices, employee misconduct, records management, and reporting obligations.
